Your throne, G_d, is forever and ever;
the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of justice.
You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
therefore G_d, your G_d, has anointed you with the oil of joy
more than your companions.
Myrrh, aloes, and cassia perfume all your garments;
from ivory palaces, harps bring you joy.
Kings’ daughters are among your honored women;
the queen adorned with gold from Ophir
stands at your right hand (Psalms 45:6-9).
This is called the “Grand Wedding March”. it is the marriage between the LORD and his people. Jesus is not with us “physically” but he does live vicariously through us and we show respect for him by adhering to his commands, decrees, and mission. In the same way, when my father died now almost 11 years ago this coming May, he would no longer be with us physically but he lives through his children by the spiritual representation in their lives, their physical skills, their demeanor, and the choices they make. When I say with pride, “I am a child of G_d”, I need to question everything about my life to see if there is anything that offends him so that people will know “Mike is truly a Child of the Living G_D” (Psalms 139:24).
Father,
You are the G_D of millions upon millions in every generation since you first made mankind. While there are so many following you and many making a mockery of their relationship with you, you call me to follow you and live according to your word. The purpose for this is that I will live a life that I will never regret nor hang my head in shame over. I am sorry for where I have fallen short and I know that I can never undo the sins of my past but I can chart course today.
Because of the LORD’S faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness! I say: The LORD is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in Him (Lamentations 3:122-24).
In the Service of My Saving LORD Jesus, I pray
Mike
